CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTRE,
INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION, EPE CAMPUS.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into the    under-listed programmes of the Continuing Education Centre, Institute of Education, Epe Campus. The re-structured programmes replace the old pre-degree Science programme.

PROGRAMMES

1.     PRE – DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMME
The programme intends to prepare candidates, for the Advanced Level (A Level) examination, that could be used to gain admission, through Direct Entry, into any University in Nigeria OR Overseas, in the following subjects:

A.       Pure Sciences    -      Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
 
B.       Social Sciences   -  .. Financial Accounting, Economics, Geography and Business Studies.

Candidate will need a combination of three (3) subjects depending on choice of career.

Duration -   One academic session (November, 2007 – October, 2008)

Admission Requirements - Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) Credits, including English Language AND Mathematics obtained at one OR two sittings.

2.    PRE – AND POST – UME PROGRAMME
To prepare candidates for the University Matriculation Examination (UME), Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Examination (PCE) AND Post-UME examinations of the Universities, Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in the following subjects:

Mathematics                 Biology                               Physics
English Language          Financial Accounting           Geography
Literature in English       Business Studies                 Chemistry
Economics                    Agricultural Science

Duration -   One academic session (November, 2007 – October, 2008)

Admission Requirements - Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) Credits, obtained at NOT more than two sittings.

3.  EXTRA-MURAL PROGRAMME
To prepare candidates for O’Level examinations, such as WAEC, NECO and GCE (Private), in the following subjects:

Mathematics                   Financial Accounting        Chemistry              
English Language            Further Mathematics         Geography
Literature in English        Business Studies                Agricultural Science
Physics                           Economics                         Biology
           
Duration -   One academic session (November, 2007 – October, 2008)

Admission Requirements –      Candidates must possess a minimum of Five (5) Credits, obtained at NOT more than two sittings. Candidates who are deficient, in one or more subjects in Senior School Certificate Examinations and National Examinations Council (NECO) OR awaiting results of the above examinations can also apply.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application forms can be downloaded online www.lasunigeria.org after payment of five thousand Naira (N5, 000.00), at SKYE Bank Plc A/C 1691770003179. The downloaded application forms must be submitted along with a copy of the teller on or before 15th October, 2007 at the Main Registry, Epe Campus of the University.

DEADLINE FOR THE SUBMISSION/COMPLETION OF APPLICATION FORMS: 15th October, 2007.     

NOTE

1. There will be qualifying examinations for potential A Level candidates on Saturday 20th of October, 2007 at Ojo Campus of Lagos State University.
2. The programmes will be handled, by qualified University Lecturers, in a conducive environment with well-equipped laboratories. There is also provision for befitting hostel accommodation (optional) at Epe Campus.
